Past Events:
Thanks to all the attendees, donors, sponsors, and volunteers who helped make our 7th Annual Puppy Love & Kitten Kisses Valentine's Dinner and Auction truly our biggest, most fabulous fundraiser yet! This year's event was held at the Sierra Nevada Big Room on Friday, February 8, and featured dinner by Sierra Nevada. The "Roaring Twenties" theme was honored by live music from the Normal St. Jazz Group, the black & white photography featured in our big-screen presentation and event program, and the flapper-and-fedora style sported by some guests.
The generosity of our event donors and sponsors was matched only by the enthusiastic altruism of the max-capacity crowd.
Auctioneer Jerome Nelson aptly presided over the live auctions, which began with a wildly popular dessert auction - one group purchased a Mim's chocolate mousse cake for $400, and later the remaining 1/4 of the cake was again auctioned off for an additional $200! Other big spenders won such items as an amethyst ring and earring set, a Baja Mexico cruise, shopping and spa packages, and unique works by local artists. Those with a bit less to spend but the same charitable desires were able to come away with some great items in our silent auction and raffles.
Many people walked away with a little less cash in the pocket but a heaping helping of satisfaction in knowing that their contributions will help provide and advocate the humane care of homeless animals in our community. Thanks again to everyone who made this event such a roaring success!
