The following websites are listed to assist the public with questions and to learn more about pets and animals. The sites are intended to convey information, and to inform the public about issues and trends in the animal welfare community. In no case are they intended to be a substitute for needed and appropriate veterinary care or advice.
If you need advice about a particular problem your pet is having, please contact your veterinarian. If you are seeking advice about adopting a particular type of animal, please contact the Butte Humane Society at (530) 343-7917, or contact your local shelter or vet office.
The Butte Humane Society recommends that people adopt an animal only if they are prepared to provide care for the animal that is appropriate to its needs and habits.
We are in constant need of supplies and materials to help provide the best care possible for the animals, and we rely on community donors for the larger items necessary to achieve our mission. Please check out our Shelter Wish List to see how you could contribute.
The next volunteer orientation is on Saturday, May 17, at 11 a.m. No need to RSVP - just come to the shelter at 2579 Fair St. in Chico. Can't make it? There's many more to come!
