We invite you to join us for a fun-filled family- and pet-centered day this Mother's Day weekend. Mutter's Day in the Park is sure to become a favorite yearly event among our community's families and animal lovers!

The annual Mutter's Day Stroll is open to the public and their dogs on leash. Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. at Cedar Grove, and the $15 fee includes a 4x6 photo and bandana. The Stroll will begin at 9 a.m. and participants may choose either a 2.5K or 5K route through Lower Bidwell Park.

The Mutter's Day Fair in Cedar Grove will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is sure to provide hours of entertainment for you and your family! Kids will love the agility course, crafts and educational activities, and the chance to meet many adoptable animals from Butte Humane Society and other rescue organizations. And for pet lovers of all ages, a variety of canine demonstrations and contests are scheduled throughout the day.

Enter your dog in contests such as Musical Sit, Longest Ears, Longest Tail, Curliest Tail, Fastest Tail Wagger, Ugliest Dog, Ugliest Tie, Best Legs (pet/owner combo!), Best Dressed, Best Bark, Best Singer, Best Kisser, Best Trick, Looks Most Like Owner, Celebrity Look-alike, Best Groomed, Most In Need Of Grooming... and many more! Winners will be determined by celebrity judges and dollar-drop voting from the audience.

Participants will include the Chico Police K-9 Unit, Butte County Search & Rescue, North Valley Animal Disaster Group, Pitts Pack Leading, Butte County Kennel Club, Corning Animal Shelter, Chico Boxer Rescue, Companion Pet Rescue, NorCal Border Collie Rescue, Small Dog Rescue... and many, many more. Local pet-related businesses will also be on hand, including All Cats & Dogs, Scraps Dog Bakery, Jill's Elegant Dog Boutique, Moak's Grooming, Mangrove Veterinary Hospital/Pet Outfitters, and Aussie Pet Mobile. Food and beverages will also be available from local vendors, including Brooklyn Bridge Bagel Works, Pizza Guys, Jamba Juice, and Knudsen's.

Raffles will also be held throughout the day, featuring a variety of quality prizes (grand prize is a beach cruiser from Campus Bicycles!) and with all proceeds benefiting the Butte Humane Society.
