Animal Control
Animal Control officers pick up stray animals (and any non-native wildlife) and will transport found or trapped animals to the shelter when possible. They enforce animal-related laws such as animal bite reporting and rabies quarantines, and perform animal cruelty investigations. They also help resolve citizen complaints or disputes regarding animals and take in animals for safekeeping when necessary. For more Butte County Animal Resource click here.
City of Chico Animal Control provides field services for Chico residents; Butte Humane Society does not provide any field services but provides care & sheltering for stray/quarantine/safekeeping animals and works to return lost/found animals to their rightful owners.
