Bella's Success story

What can I say about my Bella? I don't know where to start. I have had purebred Labs, English Bulldogs, Llasa Apsos etc., my whole life. This time I wanted to rescue a dog and take a chance on an older dog instead of a puppy. What a great choice I made! Bella is absolutely, undeniably, unequivocally the best dog I have ever owned. She is the dog I always dreamt of having as a young boy, a dog that goes with me EVERYWHERE, a dog that loves EVERYBODY and an active friend that goes with me on camping trips, vacations, road trips, runs, walks, basically everywhere. For people who are leery about a terrier mix, don't be.

These dogs bond with you and have the sweetest, most loyal disposition that I have ever seen. I know now, my dogs for the rest of my life will be terrier mixes from the pound. She's even best friends with her housemate Kitty Kitty (another rescue). I once heard a saying about the breed, "They have the biggest hearts, that are broken very easily" She is my sweet little girl and the first girl dog I have ever owned. Besides being the cheapest dog I have ever gotten, she has turned out to be the best. If you are thinking of adopting, go for it!

Bella is also the first dog that I have gotten that wasn't a puppy at the time. It was the smartest thing I ever did, no puppy chewing, potty-training etc. If you are going to adopt, please consider a dog not a puppy. Bella was 1/12 years old when I got her and the line about "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" is definitely false. I was a speech communications major in college and this dogleaves me grasping for words to describe what a great animal she has become. She is an ambassador for her breed and we try to attend all the BHS functions to support and give back to such a wonderful place that gave me such a great companion.

I love her so much, my wife might say too much J Please feel free to use any of the attached pictures of my Bella.
