Canine Cruisers

Welcome to the world of Canine Cruisers, the coolest new canine centered club to hit Chico, CA! The purpose of Canine Cruisers is to teach people how to train their dog(s) to safely pull them on a skateboard.

Location: TrailBlazer Pet Supply
Time: Every Monday at 6:30pm
What to bring: People should bring their dog, leash, and treats for training. Dogs should be exercised but not fed since positive training methodes will be utilized.
Cost: There is no cost to the training, but if folks like what they are learning and would like to have their dogs pull them, Trail Blazer's askes that participants buy a proper sled dog harness which is sold for $35.

Class Topics Include:

• Safety considerations regarding pedestrians and cars
• Conditioning for the dog
• Safety equipment for the dog such as boots, harnesses, and cooling vests
• Health considerations for the dog such as proper nutrition and hydration as well as the air temperature, temperature of the pavement, and availability of shade and water

 Training Techniques Include:

• Encouraging the dog to pull  vs. heal
• Left turns and right turns
• Slowing and stopping
• Teaching a dog to move to the side of any road or pathway
