Katie

I got Katie about 14 years ago from the Butte Humane Society. When you had her, your staff called her "stinky". I soon found out why. Luckily, she did grow out of it very quickly.

When I first met Katie, she was a quiet and shy, black and white tuxedo kitten. Hah! Boy was I ever wrong. Katie had just been spayed the day before and I don't think all of her meds had worn off yet! A couple of days after I brought her home she was queen of the house and she let everyone know it!

She brought me snakes, lizards, field mice and even birds daily! Once, she caught a blue jay and brought it in to share. We had blue feathers everywhere! She has always had that "lion" attitude and likes to sunbathe. She used to come down across the field with me to the garden and just lay in the sun. Since then we have moved to a smaller ranch and she loves to sun daily, now she just does it on the ironing board through a bedroom window. Most of her time these days she spends sleeping, at least during the day. I was amazed when I took her in for her annual check-up and our vet told us "Cats over ten years old sleep as much as 20 hours a day!" At night she prowls around to avoid our new puppy that doesn't have the respect for her she has become accustomed too!

Katie is and has been a wonderful cat and has brought me tons of joy!
