Mercedes

We have had Sadie (Mercedes as we call her now - my husband jokes and says she will be the only black Mercedes he ever owns) for almost a month now.

Mercedes loves me but has many "fear" issues of other people. She is afraid of everyone but me. She considers my bedroom an area where she feels secure and won't come out when my husband is home. He is more sad over this than she is! I don't know if she was ever abused but we are just taking our time in hopes she will relax and not be so scared. She will cower for no reason, She is a normal playful dog when I am the only one around. We try and reinforce that everything is "ok". We are trying little desensitising techniques in hopes this will help (like hubby gives her the treats and not me ).

She is a scared but oh so sweet girl and we love her not only inspite of her issues but because of them. Below is an attached photo of Mercedes (Sadie) all worn out after Christmas Day (with a house full of people and 5 other dogs from other families - scared of the people but she loved the other dogs!)
