BHS Warm Weather Wish List

We are in constant need of supplies and materials to help provide the best care possible for the animals, and we rely on community donors for the larger items necessary to acheive our mission. At this time we are in need of items from the Everyday Shelter Upkeep and Office Supplies lists.  All of items listed below help in the care of our shelter animals! Check out the full BHS Warm Weather Wish List below to see how you can contribute.   

All donations are tax-deductible. Contributions may be brought to the shelter anytime during business hours. Pick-up is available for larger donations upon request and dependent on availability.

Animal Supplies:

  • Canned (wet) cat & dog food - we prefer no corn, wheat or "byproducts" in ingredients, please!
  • Nutri-Cal dietary supplement
  • KMR (Kitten Milk Replacer) - dry formula
  • Bottles for nursing baby animals
  • Kitty litter
  • Nylon dog collars - especially medium & large sizes
  • Clean, strong leashes
  • Nail trimmers - small and large
  • Heavy-duty dog chew toys, especially large KONGs
  • Cat toys - hard plastic is best, for disinfecting
  • Cat beds and furniture
  • Dog and cat treats (unopened)
  • Chlorphenaramine tablets - over-the-counter decongestant for humans, can be used to treat sick cats
  • Clavamox antibiotic medication (at vet. offices or pet supply stores)
  • Terramycin eye medication (also at vet. offices or pet supply stores)
  • Dry food for dogs and cats - though we feed our animals with Hill's Science Diet, we give all other donated pet food to needy pet owners and rescue organizations.

Everyday Shelter Upkeep:
  • Bleach
  • Simple Green and any other non-toxic cleaning products
  • Laundry detergent
  • Dishwashing soap
  • Lysol disinfectant
  • Clorox or similar disinfecting wipes
  • Antibacterial hand soap refills
  • Hand sanitizer refills for wall dispensers
  • Febreze/air sanitizer
  • Latex gloves - medium & large sizes
  • Heavy duty garbage bags
  • Large scrub brushes with handles
  • Long-handled extendable dusters
  • 60-gallon heavy-duty plastic trash cans with lids

Office Supplies:
  • Thermal laminating sheets
  • Postage stamps
  • BLACK ink pens
  • Letter-size manila folders
  • White & Color copier paper - 8.5 x 11 inch size
  • White card stock
  • Compressed air in a can - for cleaning computers

Larger Items:
  • Rechargeable flashlights
  • Humidifier/Vaporizer - for sick cat room
  • HEPA room air purifiers
  • Folding tables (all sizes) & chairs
  • Step stools
  • Extension ladder
  • Stainless steel wire shelves
  • Locking storage sheds
  • New Dog Kennels
  • Lumber to build storage shelving
  • Chain Link fencing, gates & materials - for repairing dog kennels and enclosures
  • TOOLS (power, hand, anything & everything!)
